In the late 1880’s “Tally Ho” wagons would meet visitors to Lake County at the train stations and drive them to their destination. Because the following field trip also travels around Lake County, it has been named Tally Ho. In response to teacher’s requests, Tally Ho for 2008-2009 has been divided into two focus trips, one is Governement, the other Entrepreneurship and Business
This daylong field trip takes students on an adventure through Lake County Administration Building to visit the Board of Elections, the Treasurer's Office, Recorder's office, and other local government officials to learn about local government. Here they see how government works for the good of the people. By the end of this field trip, have not only met their government officials, but students also have a better understanding of the rights and responsibilities of citizenship in order to examine and evaluate ideals, and to participate in community life and the American democratic system.
