July 24-25, 2010

Little Mountain Heritage Festival is celebrating its 25th year. This will be our second year at the new location in Painesville Township.

The Festival opens Saturday from 10am-6pm and Sunday from 11am-5pm- the vendor area’s close at 5pm, but the finale show is just getting underway at the Festival Stage. A number of the performers are brought together on one stage for a grand finale show from 5-6pm

Festival After Dark

The Heritage Festival festivities will continue with the Festival After Dark beginning at 7 pm and continuing until 10 pm. The funky 60’s-70 sound of Fat City will entertain your from our Main Stage with old favorites and original songs. There will be beer and wine available and our food vendors are staying open late to serve you. Join us for a summer evening filled with music and fun. Adults only please.

Music

Our music selection is so large this year, it couldn't all be contained on a single web page. For 2010 musical details, (To be posted)

Fine Crafters

The Festival will also present fine crafters from across Ohio and neighboring states. Visitors will find a wide selection of fabric, ceramic, fiber and jewelry arts. In addition, country crafts, children’s clothing, toys, dolls and living plants can be found. The Festival panel selects craftsmen based on the authenticity of their handmade goods, quality of design and materials, pricing and uniqueness of product.

Food

Summer festivals mean great food and the Heritage Festival is among the best. By tradition, the festival allows no carnival type wagons in the event. All food vendors must operate from tents or traditional wagons. This brings some of the most unique and delicious festival food in N.E. Ohio including the famous Irish Nachos invented for the festival a decade ago. French fries piled high with nacho toppings has become a signature dish as well as the delicious “Smokers” slow roasted roast beef, turkey and ham sandwiches piled high with juicy meats. Among the many food vendors will be The Black Cow bar selling root beer floats and the LCHS volunteers will offer economically priced treats including the family favorite peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, pizza, hot dogs and sausages.

Family Frontier Village

Making summer memories means engaging mom and dad, grandma and grandpa with the kids. This brand new area will offer families the opportunity to try their hand at heritage crafts, games and shopping at the old time general store. In addition to the activities, this area will feature the Frontier Stage featuring family oriented entertainment, story tellers and the popular Jim Kleefield Magic Show.

Cultural Village

Tthis area will contain displays, crafts, and food goods from the various ethnic groups that have created the rich fabric of Lake County, Ohio. Participants will include representatives from groups across the community. The Village Stage will present ethnic groups in song and dance during Festival weekend.

Ramrod Busters

A long-time favorite of Festival guests, is the Ramrod Buster encampment. This group of historical re-enactors brings to life the Ohio frontier. Visitors are encouraged to tour their encampment, view how life was managed on the frontier and ask questions. Children are especially curious about the shelters, tents, cooking implements and clothing. A walk through the encampment is a walk through history.

Non-Profit Organizations

LCHS is proud to offer area non-profit organizations complimentary booth space at the Festival. Organizations such as Lake County YMCA, the Lake County Library Association, LAKETRAN, Ladies of the Parlor and many more are available to explain their services and share information about their activities
